H.O.S.T.S. Volunteers Needed

CSCSHC is excited to continue our Helping One Student To Succeed (H.O.S.T.S.) volunteer reading tutor program in all three elementary schools for the 2022-2023 school year.

Research shows that one-on-one tutoring makes an impact. Come make a difference in a child’s life by being a one-on-one reading tutor for just one hour per week!

H.O.S.T.S. meets Monday through Thursday during the school year at Brandywine Elementary, New Palestine Elementary, and Sugar Creek Elementary.

Mentors work on reading skills with one second-grade student and one third-grade student for 30 minutes each. All materials are provided and no training is necessary.

Mentors choose which day of the week and how often they mentor. Mentors can also choose to be a substitute only. In recent years, every third-grade child enrolled in the H.O.S.T.S. program passed the IREAD-3 reading assessment test. Your help can make a difference!

If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact one of our elementary schools today!
